The Dec. 6 art walk color theme is GOLD! Gold is the color of our star Sol as we celebrate the Winter Solstice and the return of the sun during December. The shiny color of gold represents lifelong relationships, kindhearted deeds, wealth, adoration and warm gatherings.
Find works of art and folks supporting the option to dress in shades of gold or representations of this festive time of year to celebrate harmony, illumination and hope as they enjoy an evening on the town with friends and family.
First Friday Art Walk Sequim is a fun and free self-guided tour of local art venues in Sequim on the First Friday of every month from 5-8 p.m. Visit online at www.sequimartwalk.com as your resource to download and print your own map, find out what special events are happening, links, and how you can be part of art. Special events for Dec. 6:
• No Batteries Required, Rich Wyatt, Rich Johnston, Jim Muldowney and Bud Davies, will be strolling the Sequim streets and performing delightful tunes.
• R&T Crystals and Beads will have jewelry demonstrations from Paulette Hill and Gail McLain, as well as, serving their famous homemade chocolate-covered bonbons at 158 E. Bell St.
• Doodlebugs at 138 W. Washington St. is offering a free “Make and Take” between 5-7 p.m.
• Remote Control Hobbies will be displaying the metal artwork of local artist Scott Birdsall at 680 W. Washington St. Suite B105. His pieces depict a variety of aircraft and cars, as well as, some wildlife pieces.

• Members of The Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., offer an annual holiday “Gift Gallery” beginning Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving through Dec. 31. Shop one-of-its-kind gifts for you, your family and friends. Selection of jewelry, paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, fused glass and greeting cards. • Sally Cays and Patricia Taynton present traditional artwork and more at Gallery on the Walls, 128 E. Washington St. The gallery is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and by appointment on weekends by calling 683-5387. Artists’ reception 5-8 p.m.
• Local artist’s artwork on display at The Red Rooster Grocery, 134 1/2 W. Washington St., during business hours.
• At Pacific Mist Books, 121 W. Washington St., local artists and authors’ books and greeting cards are featured. Also Jean Wyatt’s artwork, Tracie Gulit’s handcrafted stylish creations for the wall and Marilyn Brock’s fused glass sun catchers are on display for First Friday.
• At The LARC Art Gallery, 425 E. Washington St., various artists will present “The Holiday Delights Show, Nov. 25-Dec. 26. Reception 5-8 p.m.
• The Sunshine Café, 145 W. Washington St., presents fine art, graphics and cartoons by the late Tim Quinn, a gifted local artist, who left a legacy of artwork throughout the North Olympic Peninsula for all to enjoy. Open 5-8 p.m.
• At Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., local artists have work on display plus wine tasting and late evening entertainment to 9 p.m.
• At The Rainshadow Roasting Company, 157 W. Cedar St. Sample coffee brewed from beans roasted on the premise while enjoying the art. Open 5-8 p.m.
• The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley (MAC) presents “History & Art Connects” at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. This featured exhibit showcases artwork depicting local scenes with historical relevance that were created by 21 artists active in the area arts scene largely from the 1960s-1980s. An opening reception is 5-8 p.m.
• Small Wonders 8-inch by 10-inch Show with artwork contributed by gallery members through December at the Landing Art Gallery, 115 E Railroad Ave., Port Angeles, with a reception from 5-8 p.m. Second Saturday, Dec. 14.

• Dick Hahn’s artwork is on display at the Bank of America, 114 S. Sequim Ave., now through February during business hours Monday-Saturday.
• Randy Radock’s block prints are on display at Olympic Peninsula Gateway Visitors Center, Junction of Highways 104 and 19, Port Ludlow, through December, and he has an ongoing display at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center Gift Shop, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
• Irene Loghry’s pastels and oil paintings featuring water views and botanical art at the Sequim Library, 630 N Sequim Ave., as part of the ongoing “Art in the Library Series.” An after-hours reception from 6-8 p.m. will showcase the artist’s work and light refreshments will be available, plus live music entertainment will be provided by Sandy and Slim.
• Do It Yourself Art Show, through Jan. 8 at The Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles, as part of the ongoing “Art in the Library Series.” Quirky and out-of-the ordinary artistic creations featuring locally produced arts and crafts which express a “do it yourself” approach to artistic expression, including such things as: art “made from scratch,” art made from repurposed or natural materials, functional art, and/or art exploring themes of self-reliance, creative problem solving and resilience. • Skip Kratzer’s “Amazing Car Art and More” artwork at The Good Book, 108 W. Washington St., and Dog House Powder Coating, 503 S. Third St.
• Donna Smith, a very talented local photographer, has her work featured at Crumb Grabbers Bakery, 492 W. Cedar St.
• Scott Erickson’s striking photographic scenes of the Southwest, Alaska, North Olympic Peninsula and other locations in the U.S. are displayed on a rotating basis at Strait Financial Advice, 193 W. Cedar St.
• Local artists’ art on display at Clear Image, 518 N. Sequim Ave., during business hours.
