Fisher featured at Fourth Friday

Writers on the Spit will host the Fourth Friday Reading Series in Sequim on Friday, Feb. 22, at the Rainshadow Coffee Bar, 157 W. Cedar St., Sequim. The event is free. Arrive at 6 p.m. for coffee. Readings begin at 6:30 p.m.

Peninsula author/poet Jim Fisher is the featured writer. He will read and share the humor from his new book, “The Adventures of J.R. Engels.”

Fisher, semi-retired from the English faculty at Peninsula College, lives in Sequim and at nearby Lake Sutherland. He and his wife, Ann, love to travel, which has afforded him opportunities to teach in China, Egypt, Amsterdam, London, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and other ports of call.

Fisher’s readings will be followed by five-minute open-mic readings from 7-8 p.m. Writers are encouraged to bring original prose and poetry. Names are collected between 6-6:30 p.m. and are drawn for the five-minute readings.
