Orchard and Shea have featured roles in “Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits,” a musical cabaret presented by the Port Angeles Community Players.

The show opens at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, in the P.A. Playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd. Additional 7:30 p.m. performances will be on April 26, 29, May 2, 3, 6, 9 and 19, with 2 p.m. matinees on April 27, May 4 and May 11.

“Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits” is a best-of-the-best compilation of the production that’s been poking fun at Broadway shows and stars since 1982, explains director Ron Graham.

“The songs are parody,” Graham says. “Sometimes shows take themselves too seriously. That’s where ‘Forbidden Broadway’ comes in. It gives them the words you’d like to hear the singers sing.”

And Graham doesn’t want potential audience members to be misled by the title.

“It’s not in the least risqué,” Graham says. “It’s not for small children, but I’d rate it a PG.”

All the lyrics are by Gerard Alessandrini, who matches them to the original songs from shows like “Annie,” “Les Miserables,” “West Side Story,” “Hello Dolly,” “Cats,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and on and on.

Others in the cast are Nikki Adams, Misha Cassalle-Blackburn, Dani Chamberlain, B.J. Kavanaugh, Sean Peck-Collier, Jeremy Pederson, Angela Poynter-Lemaster, Richard Stephans and Curt White.

Musical director is Denise McLean, with onstage accompaniment by pianist Geri Zanon and keyboardist Jim Couture.

Tickets art $12 for adults, $6 for students and children. On Tuesdays, all tickets bought at the door are $6 festival seating. Reserved seats are available in advance at Odyssey Bookshop, 114 W. Front St., Port Angeles, or online at PACommunityPlayers.com.
