The Fourth Friday Readings will feature two of its organizers, Heidi Hansen and Linda B. Myers, at 6:30 p.m. June 23 at at The Lodge Media Room, 660 Evergreen Farm Road, Sequim.
Both authors will read selections from “In the Words of Olympic Peninsula Authors,” an anthology newly released by Skookum Bay Publishing. Both are hosts of the Fourth Friday readings as well as founders of the Olympic Peninsula Authors group.
Hansen has written newspaper articles, high tech copy, brochures for gift baskets, real estate ads and more in a career of marketing that has taken her from Silicon Valley to Sequim. Now as a retired realtor, Hansen has the time to write for the joy of it. Her collection of short stories, “A Slice of Life,” was published earlier this year.
Myers traded in snow boots for rain boots and moved from Chicago to Port Angeles. Her six novels include the popular PI Bear Jacobs series, and she writes “From the Back Nine,” a monthly column for the Sequim Gazette. Myers will release a seventh novel this summer she calls “a very adult fantasy” entitled, “The Slightly Altered History of Cascadia.”
An hour of 5-minute open mic readings will follow the presentation. Interested writers should come early to submit their names and rehearse in advance, as the readings are timed.
