Free class on living wreaths and homemade topiary set

Master Gardeners Michelle Simpson and Cindy Deford explain how to create topiaries with succulents at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road, Sequim.

They discuss using affordable framing materials as alternatives to expensive premade forms to create live topiary for a personal garden or gift giving. They also demonstrate how to construct and care for a living succulent wreath and other forms.

The presentation is part of the Class Act at Woodcock Garden series, sponsored by the Master Gardener Foundation of Clallam County, held on the first and third Saturdays of the month. The presentations are free and open to the public.

A free plant clinic will be held following the presentation, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Woodcock Demonstration garden. Trained Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions about gardening issues. For questions, call 417-2279.
