The YMCA of Sequim, 610 N. Fifth Ave., hosts a free lifeguard certification class set for 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, and 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4.

This Lifeguard Certification Class is a blended learning class combining online and classroom training along with hands-on skills and pool sessions.

Completion of the class provides a lifeguard certification plus CPR, First Aid, AED and emergency oxygen certifications.

Minimum age is 16 by the last day of the class.

The class includes online, classroom and pool training. Pre-class swim workouts are available for those seeking to improve their swim skills prior to the class.

A swim test and orientation is from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. Registration is open until Dec. 14 or until class is full (maximum 10 participants).
