Garden club hosts talk on rare plant conservancy

Sequim Prairie Garden Club opens its general, monthly meetings to the public on Monday, Nov. 6 in Pioneer Memorial Park clubhouse, 387 E Washington St., Sequim.

Coffee hour begins at 10 a.m. the first Monday each month, except holidays, with a guest speaker starting at 10:30 a.m.

Sue Milliken and Kelly Dobson, owners of Far Reaches Farm and Nursery in Port Townsend, will discuss “Rare Plant Conservancy.”

Milliken and Dobson, lifelong rare plant enthusiasts, will talk about some of their favorite rare plants from shade-loving species to rainshadow dry rock gardens. They will highlight the important conservation efforts of their non-profit company, Far Reaches Botanical Conservancy.
