Gardening group redesigns Robin Hill

Volunteer Master Gardeners have redesigned the Robin Hill Demonstration Garden to increase efficiency and productivity with the help of local businesses and foundations.

A grant from the Albert Haller Foundation bought supplies to help increase soil fertility and improve irrigation. John Maguire, a local handyman, volunteered his time and equipment to till the vegetable garden. Master Gardener volunteers plan new tilled and raised beds.

The organic garden demonstrates vegetable and fruit varieties grown under cultural conditions appropriate to the peninsula. It annually produces between 1,500 and 2,000 pounds of fresh produce that is donated to the Salvation Army soup kitchen and food bank.

The Master Gardener Foundation of Clallam County provides funding for operation of this demonstration garden.
