Genealogy group sets special Zoom meeting

The Clallam County Genealogical Society (CCGS) hosts a seminar featuring Lisa Louise Cooke, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, on Zoom.

Program organizers note Cooke is one of the leading genealogists in the nation, having written several popular books including “The Genealogist’s Google Toolbox,” “How to Find your Family History in Newspapers” and the video series, “Google Earth for Genealogy.”

She also is the producer and host of the Genealogy Gems Podcast, a popular online audio show available at GenealogyGems.com.

Cooke is the producer and host of the Family Tree Magazine Podcast, and author of Lisa’s Picks column in Family Tree Magazine.

The seminar is comprised of three sessions: The Genealogist’s Google Search Methodology; Ancestry Top Tips and Hidden Secrets, and How to Reopen and Work a Genealogical Cold Case.

Beginning and advanced genealogists will find material applicable to their research.

Seminar attendees are welcome to watch the Zoom meeting from home or at the CCGS Research Center, 403 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles.

Early registration for the seminar closes Aug. 7.

Cost is $40 for CCGS members, $50 for non-members. All late and at-the-door registrations are $50 per person.
