City offers public safety testing in-person exam

The City of Sequim will host a Public Safety Testing (PST) in-person exam at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St., from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, March 2.

Testing times include 9:30 a.m. for police, corrections and fire candidates, and 10 a.m. for dispatch. By attending, you’ll begin the essential process of qualifying for positions at local public safety agencies.

For more information and registration details, visit the PST website or contact the City of Sequim at HR@sequimwa.gov. The police exam is free for candidates applying for City of Sequim positions.

Grief support set

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) will sponsor a five-week in-person grief support group every Monday from Feb. 10 through March 17, with the exception of Feb. 17. Sessions will be from 1-3 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave. in Sequim.

The group offers a place for participants to share with others their feelings and experiences with grief; gain a clearer understanding of the mourning process; and learn coping skills and strategies for dealing with the emotional pain of loss. Confidentiality is essential to foster openness, trust and acceptance.

Charter Review spot opens

The Clallam County Charter Review Commission is seeking to fill a vacancy for District III. The vacancy will be addressed at the Commission’s meeting on Monday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m.

Interested citizens can send a letter of intent to the Charter Review Commission Clerk at loni.gores@clallamcountywa.gov or deliver it to the Board of Commissioners office at 223 East Fourth St., Room 150, in Port Angeles. Letters of Intent must be received by noon Friday, Feb. 7. The phone number to the clerk’s office is 360-417-2256.

Death Cafe ‘Tea to Die For’ at KSQM

Death Cafe’s “Tea to Die For,” sponsored by Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, in the Community Room at KSQM-FM, 609 W. Washington St.

Tea, coffee and snacks will be served. Attendance is free and open to all. No prior registration is required.
