Ghostlight Productions greenlights new streamed musical revue

After nearly two years without live musical theater because of the COVID pandemic, Ghostlight Productions is back with a brand new streamed musical revue.

Starting last weekend, fans of Ghostlight were able to tuning into “Broadway in Your Pj’s,” a celebration of some of the local company’s greatest past hits, including numbers from “Mamma Mia!,” “Chicago,” “Next to Normal” and “Annie.”

The cast will also be performing songs from future show considerations, including, “Sweeney Todd,” “The Pirates of Penzance,” “South Pacific” and “Bright Star.”

“Broadway in Your Pj’s” runs through Sept. 4. Tickets are by donation and all information can be found at ghostlightwa.org.

The “Broadway in Your Pj’s” event is filmed live from the historic Lincoln Theater, using three HD cameras so the audience feels like they are onstage along with the performers.

“The cast and crew is working so hard to put this incredible show together and we wanted the quality of the production to reflect that,” artistic director Mark Lorentzen said.

Show organizers say the company navigated restrictions and county guidance that made rehearsing difficult.

“Obviously we prefer the essence of a live theatre experience,” Lorentzen said, “but we are so thankful for the available technology that allows us to share a little bit of musical theatre magic with our community.”
