Gospel Singers perform on Mariners’ big stage

The Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers ushered in the winning spirit on Monday, Aug. 20, by singing the national anthem at SAFECO Field. The Mariners beat the Cleveland Indians 5-3 following the group’s performance.

Singing at the game was the first time the gospel singers performed at a Major League Baseball game. A caravan of family went with the singers to watch the performance and game, and some relatives even flew in from as far away as Los Angeles, Calif.
