Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers presents its annual benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., in Port Angeles.

The free concert is the last of the season for the Gospel Singers with donations benefiting T.A.F.Y. (The Answer For Youth), Captain Joseph House and the local Salvation Army.

The Gospel Singers bring back some popular tunes from their spring concert like “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen,” “Lean on Me,” and “Glory, Glory, Hallelujah” along with songs from the Crabfest Revival Choir and the Little Brass Band.

Michael McBride, Dan Cobb and Penny Hall, a pianist, will sing or play solos while the Gospel Singers will lead the audience in two sing-a-longs “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” and “How Great Thou Art.”

The Gospel Singers also are preparing and recording a new CD with live music as well as some studio recordings for release in September. They’ll hold pre-orders for the album and take contributions from “Project Supporter” to aid in the production costs. For more information, see pmgospelsingers.com.
