Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is offering two free grief support groups. Both groups start from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28.
One group, facilitated by Donna Geer, meets weekly online and run for six weeks until Monday April 4: a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone with microphone and camera is necessary to take part in the group. The other group, facilitated by Debby Smith, meets in person in Sequim and will run for five weeks until Monday, March 28.
Registration is required for either group by calling 360-452-1511. Enrollment is limited to allow trust building and sharing of feelings and experiences.
Geer and Smith are both long-time volunteers with VHOCC and have facilitated such groups.
Volunteer orientation set for March 3
VHOCC is hosting a volunteer orientation for those interested in learning more about or volunteering with the organization. The session will be online using Zoom on Thursday, March 3, from 11-noon; in-person sessions have been suspended until further notice.
Register at 360-452-1511 or vsm@vhocc.org.
The organization’s most urgent needs are for delivery team helpers (vehicle provided) and lending closet assistants in Port Angeles. We also welcome volunteers interested in doing clerical and data entry, respite and grief support.
VHOCC provides end-of-life nursing care, loans of medical equipment and supplies, offering education programs, grief support groups, one-on-one bereavement services and practical workshops on life after loss.
