Have fun in Sequim this Halloween, harvest season

Candy, costumes, fun, and zombies highlight the many offerings this Halloween in Sequim offered by businesses, churches and community groups. They provide safe places to dress up, play games and trick/trunk-or-treat the weekend before or through Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Through Oct. 31

Humane Society offers haunted house

The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society continues its Scaredy Cats Howl-o-ween Haunted House from 4-8 p.m. on Oct. 28 and 31 at Kitty City, 91 S. Boyce Road. Tickets are $10 for 16 and older, $5 for 6-16, free for 5-and-under, and adults must accompany children. For more information, visit ophumanesociety.org.

• ‘Night of the Living Dead’ returns

​​Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave., hosts a contemporary take on “Night of the Living Dead” at 7 p.m. Oct. 27-28, and Oct. 30-31, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29.

Tickets are $20 general and $15 for students. Tickets are available at olympictheatrearts.org, by calling the box office (360-683-7326) from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday or at the door.

Friday, Oct. 27

• Community church offers harvest fest

Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., hosts its Fall Family Festival from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 with a bounce house, carnival games, food and a chili cook-off for children of all ages.

Saturday, Oct. 28

High School hosts Haunted Hallways

Students host the annual Haunted Hallways event from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 in the H-Building at Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave. There’s a wide-range of activities for ages 4-and-up, including face painting, cake walks, arts and crafts, and more. Admission is a suggested can of food for Sequim Food Bank’s “Boo Hunger” drive. Costumes welcome.

• Rat Racers/KSQM rally for trunk-or-treat, tours

Olympic Peninsula Rat Racers offer a Trunk-or-Treat from 1-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Sequim Village Shopping Center, 651 W. Washington St. Rat rods, 4x4s, side-by-sides, and more cool cars will be displayed with plenty of candy on-hand. KSQM 91.5 FM will also be open for spooky tours with hot dogs and popcorn from 2-5 p.m.

• Boys & Girls Club conjures fun

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula in Sequim at 400 W. Fir St. opens from noon-3 p.m.. Saturday, Oct. 28, to offer games with candy prizes, music, a costume contest, arts and crafts, a cupcake walk, and a haunted house that may not be suitable for younger children.

Admission is $5 for children 3-17, while adults and children 2 and under are free. Admission includes 10 game tickets and a pizza lunch. Additional tickets cost 10 for $1, and adult lunch is $3.

• Grange gathers for festival, trunk or treat

All ages are welcome to the Sequim Prairie Grange Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat event, from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at 290 Macleay Road. Inside the grange will be several games, a cake walk, apple cider and a kitchen with hot dogs and hamburgers for a small price. Tickets for the games will be $0.50 each. In addition, the grounds will be filled with trunks full of treats and pumpkin carving for free.

• Casino conjures up costume contest

7 Cedars Casino, 270756 U.S. Highway 101, hosts its annual Halloween party Saturday, Oct. 28, inside Club Seven. Entries must be in the club by 9 p.m. with the costume contest starting at 10 p.m. No cover charge; participants must be 21 or older. There are individual/couple prizes and group costume prizes for three or more people. Music is provided by The Nasty Habits. A free shuttle is available.

Halloween day (Tuesday, Oct. 31)

• Avamere offers trunk-or-treat

Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim, 1000 S. Fifth Ave., hosts a Trunk-or-Treat event from 2-4 p.m. at the facility’s parking lot. The event features candy, games, a costume contest, and best trunk awards.

• Adagio hosts candy, food, petting zoo

Adagio Bean & Leaf, 981 E. Washington St., presents a trunk-or-treat from 2-5 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31 with food from Sunshine Cafe, candy, a petting zoo, and more in the field by the coffee shop.

• Elks invite drive thru trick-or-treaters

The Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road, hosts their “Drive Thru Trick-or-Treat” from 3-5 pm. Elks members will be handing out bags of candy to all the little ones. Call 360-460-0380 for more information.

• Trick-or-treat downtown

Downtown Sequim merchants offer trick-or-treating from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31 along Washington Street in downtown Sequim. Dozens of businesses offer candy stops outside, inside or on their doorstep. Organizers with the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber Commerce encourage participants to visit the agency’s social media pages for updates.

• First Baptist holds harvest festival

First Baptist Church, 1323 Sequim-Dungeness Way, hosts a harvest festival from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. For more information, call 360-683-2114.

• Thrive throws Trunk-or-Treat

Thrive Church, 640 N. Sequim Ave., offers a Trunk-or-Treat in its parking lot from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.

• Foursquare church hosts Harvest Fest

Sequim Valley Foursquare, 9090 Old Olympic Hwy., holds its Harvest Festival from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 31. with food, activities, and candy.

• Faith Lutheran brings back harvest fest

Faith Lutheran Church, 354 W. Cedar St., brings back its first inside harvest festival since 2019 from 5-7 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31. The family-friendly event offers candy, activities, games, and more with trick-or-treaters welcome.

• King’s Way welcomes back the Bash

King’s Way Sequim, 1023 Kitchen-Dick Road, hosts its annual “Bash” from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, with games, food, candy, and rides. Kid-friendly costumes only.

• Fifth Avenue hosts bat cave

The Fifth Avenue, 500 West Hendrickson Road, hosts a Spooktacular Halloween Trick-or-Treat Extravaganza from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Halloween with games, treats, and a chance to win a Halloween Raffle Basket that features movie tickets to Deer Park Cinemas and more.

• Sherwood offers trick-or-treating

Sherwood Assisted Living, 550 W. Hendrickson Road, invites trick-or-treaters from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 31 to visit residents in their halls as they have “lots of candy to pass out for our costumed guests.”

• Eastern Hills welcomes trunk-or-treaters

Eastern Hills Community Church, 91 Savannah Lane, hosts its annual Trunk-or-Treat from 6-8 p.m. on, Oct. 31, outside the church with hay rides, candy, hot dogs, and more.
