Interfaith class series comes to peninsula

The Interfaith Community of Clallam County presents eight-session interfaith classes at eight different faith and cultural communities in Port Angeles.

Each session of this class will be led by different community leaders. Marilyn Eash, founder of the Interfaith Community in Clallam County, will be a guiding presence at all classes.

Sessions are 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday nights from Sept. 26-Nov. 14.

The goal, session organizers say, is to “discover together how to strengthen our community and build bridges between people of different faiths and/or spirituality.” Learn about interfaith leadership, deepen knowledge about one’s own faith identity and get to know more about the makeup of the local community.

Each session focuses on a different topic, and can stand by itself. However, organizers encourage participants to attend as many sessions as they can. Receive a ‘passport’ with room for eight stickers, and present six of the eight stickers at graduation for a certificate of participation.

Sessions include:

• Sept. 26, “Intro to Interfaith,” Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

• Oct. 7, “Key Concepts,” Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle St.

• Oct. 10, “Identity and Storytelling,” North Olympic Land Trust, 602 E. Front St.
