League of British Women make Lavender Girls Calendar

28 years ago, the League of British Women was founded in Sequim as a social club for area women who were born in the British Isles. This year, they’re creating a calendar of their members in all their Lavender Festival finery.

Each of their 26 members will be helping present their birthday month for the Lavender Girls Calendar, with the pictures taken at their most recent High Tea event, which are hosted monthly at members’ homes. This month’s tea was themed around the Lavender Festival with the idea of the calendar shoot in mind.

The calendar is expected to be given to members around Christmas time, with potential sales of the calendar to the public expected to be priced at production cost, League president Maggie Morgan said, because the League is a non-profit organization.
