Learn how to photograph your artwork

The Olympic Peninsula Art Association will present a program and demonstration by Pam Dick (pictured, at left) on Thursday June 22, in in the Parish Hall of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim. OPAA will provide the ham and beverages — bring your favorite side dish, salad or dessert. Non-members are welcome. Cost for non-members will be $5. The doors open at 9:30 a.m. for meet and greet, followed by a short business meeting before Dick’s program. Dick will talk about and demonstrate how to take pictures of your artwork. She plans to explain the method she has used for taking photos of many local artists’ framed and unframed work for shows, cards or prints.

“When entering shows, your photos need to look as good as the original. There are many tricks to make sure your photo presents the piece well and gets you accepted,” Dick said.
