Learn natural landscaping to conserve water and work

The Clallam Conservation District’s natural landscaping course allows homeowners to develop low-maintenance landscapes that conserve water, provide wildlife habitat and control storm-water runoff, with step-by-step instruction on how to develop landscape designs suited to the unique ecological conditions of their properties.

The course includes three evening classes (6-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 4, 11 and 18) at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim; and three afternoon field trips: Friday, Oct. 5; Saturday, Oct. 13; and Saturday, Oct. 20.

A $20 registration fee covers the cost of materials. To register, call CCD at 452-1912, ext.5 by Sept. 27. For questions about course content, contact CCD or visit www.clallamcd.org/.
