The North Olympic Library System has partnered with the Dungeness River Audubon Center and designer Tom Bihn to offer three birding kits that are now available for checkout.

The kits offer library card holders a “fun, free and easy way to get outside and explore the abundant wildlife of Northwest Washington,” say library officials.

Each kit comes equipped with binoculars, a guide book for adults and one for younger readers, a birdsong CD and pamphlets addressing the basics and etiquette of birding – all packaged in a daypack Bihn designed. Patrons may borrow each kit for up to three weeks.

To reserve a kit, call or visit any NOLS library or visit the online catalog at www.nols.org.
