MAC hosts free cedar weaving demonstration

The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley presents a free cedar weaving art demonstration with artist Ann Adams from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24.

The demo, hosted at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim, is open to all ages and sponsored by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.

Adams’s cedar-woven artwork is featured in the Hall-Adams Family Exhibit on display within the Jamestown S’Klallam Longhouse Exhibit at the MAC Exhibit Center.

The demonstration is one of several free demonstrations by local artists presented by the MAC in August. Additional demos include jewelry making and beading by Paulette Hill from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and driftwood art techniques with Barbara Ralph and certified LuRon instructor Tuttie Peetz from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Each demo is free and open to the public, with donations appreciated and light refreshments provided.

Artists interested in conducting a demo this fall are encouraged to call MAC Exhibit Center manager Steph Ellyas at 683-8110 or e-mail to: steph@macsequim.org.
