Stuart and Ilonka Mackenzie will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 26.

Stuart was born in Cardiff, Wales, and Ilonka was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. They met in Australia and married in Elizabeth, South Australia, and have two children, Michelle and Mike.

The couple came to the United States in 1975. They moved to Wyoming where Stuart worked many years in the Trona Mines and retired from the school district.

The Mackenzies have four grandchildren, Dylan, Zackery, Adrienne and Hayden. Three are in Wyoming and one is in Utah.

They both belong to the Shipley Center and enjoy the events there. They also like to travel all over the world. Ilonka has two sisters here and one brother-in-law.
