Retired Clallam County Sheriff Bill Benedict received some kudos from his peers at the recent Washington Association of Sheriff and Police Chiefs (WASPC) awards banquet on Nov. 8.

Clallam sheriff Brian King, undersheriff Ron Cameron and Port Angeles Police Chief Brian Smith nominated retired Benedict to receive WASPC’s Lifetime Member Award.

Benedict was presented the award by WASPC for his many years of dedicated service as sheriff who “rendered outstanding service to WASPC as an active member and who distinguished himself by deed or act on behalf of the objectives or principle of WASPC on behalf of the membership.”
