Milestone — Brown takes first for copper sculpture

Sequim artist Natalie Brown’s copper goldfish has won first place in the Sculpture category at an international art show that opened in Minneapolis, Minn., on April 27.

The Courage Kenny fine art show and sale is now entering its 53rd year and runs through May 19. The 250 pieces of art currently on display will help to bring awareness to the programs of the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute — programs that help people with a wide-range of disabilities achieve health, wellness and independence.

Brown said, “A fish can bring a sense of tranquility to one’s life. And one made of copper? Copper is pure, never changing, but often shaped by surroundings, like the soul. With love and kindness, this fish has been created fresh and new. An innocent angel fish beginning its journey, swimming through life.” Contact Brown at 808-0934 or Natalie @SteelCoyote.com for other custom art.
