Mary Jane Duncan is announcing the engagement of her daughter Danika Duncan, a Sequim High School Class of 2008 graduate, to Mick Dempsey of Ballina, Ireland.

Danika is the daughter of Mary Jane Duncan and the late Bob Duncan of Sequim.

Mick is the son of Michael Downey and Marie Dempsey of Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland.

The wedding will be on June 28 at Downpatrick Head, Ballycastle, Mayo, Ireland, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

There will be a ceremony and celebration in Sequim on Aug. 10.

Danika became connected to Ireland not only by her great-grandmother, who was full Irish, but also on a study abroad from Western Washington University to Institute of Technology-Carlow, where she graduated, and then began working Ballina.
