Milestone: O3A, county commissioners celebrate Family Caregiver Month

Representatives from Olympic Area Agency on Aging (O3A) recently accepted a a proclamation from Clallam County Commissioners designating November as Family Caregiver Month.

O3A staffers on hand to accept the procilamation included: Nancy McCarty, family caregiver case manager; Tamra Smith, information and assistance specialist/case aide; Ricci Sletkolen, home care referral registry coordinator; Renee Worthey, information and assistance specialist/case aide, and Jody Moss, director of contracts management and planning.

Jefferson County Commissioners also issued the same proclamation.

O3A estimates that there are as many as 15,660 family caregivers in Clallam County and 8,150 in Jefferson County.

In the two counties, caregivers provide 22 million hours of essential and caring services valued at $315 million annually to their loved ones, they said.
