Milestone: Olympic Medical Center gives kudos to eight nurses

Eight nurses from Olympic Medical Center were honored for their work at a recent board of commissioners meeting.

Kaylee Sullivan is a night shift charge nurse and contributes to patient safety efforts, employee engagement and staff retention, OMC officials say.

Pediatric registered nurse Lea Sollman helped revamp bedside reporting and shows characteristics of a leader, OMC representatives said, while Patty Stewart-Ford helps orient new nurses and staff to the unit and contributes greatly to process improvements.

As a key member of the medical/surgical team, Karen Bennett, “maintains outstanding patient care with calm, compassion, professionalism and grace,” they said

The board also had an opportunity to recognize 2019 DAISY Award recipients Judy Bedford ( primary care), Katie Sayles, (cancer center), Karen Reeder (medicated assisted treatment program) and Michael Perchert-Osuna (intensive care and telemetry unit), thanking them for “providing extraordinary nursing care to patients and their families.”
