Jae McGinley, Olympic Medical Center’s Trauma program manager, was recently selected one of 40 health care leaders chosen to join the American Hospital Association’s Next Generation Leader Fellowship.
This 12-month fellowship focuses on developing leaders and empowering them to bring about lasting change in the hospital and health systems in which they serve.
“This fellowship is an incredible opportunity to bring OMC’s work to the national level and collaborate with healthcare leaders from various disciplines across the country,” McGinley said.
“I am fortunate to have been awarded the John A. Hartford Age Friendly Systems Cohort Scholarship. While my focus is on elevating age friendly care in our organization, other patient populations will undoubtedly benefit from this work as well.”
This year’s fellowship roster includes leaders from across the United States with diverse backgrounds and leadership experience, OMC representatives said.
Fellows work alongside mentors to hone vital healthcare leadership skill, such as leading and affecting change, navigating the health care environment, driving transformation, improving care delivery and developing operational strategies for success, culminating in a capstone project.
“I am so proud one of OMC’s nursing leaders was chosen for this prestigious fellowship,” OMC Chief Nursing Officer Vickie Swanson said.
“Jae is a caregiver with a diversified professional career and demonstrates a dedication to OMC. She is very passionate about recognizing and meeting the needs of the community. This fellowship will provide Jae with the opportunity to grow professionally in her role. “
McGinley began her fellowship this July alongside her cohort and mentors, while also continuing her dedicated service to OMC as the Trauma Program Manager.
