Soroptimist International of Sequim announced last week the winner of the group’s Vocational Technical Award is Sondra Pedlar.

A single mom, Pedlar keeps a busy schedule around raising three children and working several part-time positions while enrolled in the Peninsula College nursing program.

Pedlar is in the first year of her nursing program. Soroptimist members say she is dedicated to becoming a nurse and to be an example to her children, the importance of setting goals and working hard to achieve them.
