Milestone: PEO group hosts annual meeting

The annual gathering of PEO women from Sequim, Port Angeles and Port Townsend recently convened at 7 Cedars Casino in Blyn with 140 attending.

“Great Women in the Founding of the Great Northwest” was the topic of guest speaker Nancy Alarcon, principal lecturer and director of clinical education at the University of Washington’s Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences.

The event focused on the PEO International Peace Scholarship Fund, one of six philanthropies supported by members in the United States and Canada. Among the many recipients, two postgraduate students are studying in Washington, one from India at the University of Washington and the other from Uganda at Seattle University.
