Milestone: Pettit picked for Elks’ Student of Month honor

Sequim High student Ivy Pettit accepts her Sequim Elks Lodge Student of the Month award from Sequim Elks Exalted Ruler Klayton Waldron.

Ivy Pettit, a junior at Sequim High School, is the Sequim Elks Student of the Month for March.

The daughter of Dawayne and Amy Pettit, Ivy hails from a pioneer family. Her favorite subjects are chemistry, art and math.

Pettit has been active in 4-H for seven years, FFA for two years, Clallam Country Junior Livestock Association and Pacific Northwest Junior Livestock Association auctions.

She is interested in gardening and raising heritage chickens. She also enjoys painting and drawing dragons, and riding her spotted saddle horse, ZAHAVE. Pettit said she loves to make costumes for him and dress him in them.

Pettit is taking math, science, ceramics, chemistry and art at Sequim High.

After graduation, Pettit plans to join the U.S. Air Force and be a part of the rodeo.
