Security Services Northwest, Inc., was recently honored with a Diamond Award from the Michael Trebert Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for its support of Wreaths Across America.
This marks the third consecutive year that SSNW has been the top wreath sponsor for the Olympic Peninsula. SSNW president/CEO Joe D’Amico accepted the award during the chapter’s community and chapter recognition dinner in mid-May.
“We are grateful to the DAR for this recognition,” D’Amico said. “However, I must acknowledge our dedicated employees and our supportive community, who make it possible for us to contribute to these causes.”
The mission of Wreaths Across America is to honor and remember every fallen American service member and recognize their sacrifices, as well as the sacrifices of their families. DAR is the largest sponsorship group of Wreaths Across America, with almost 1,000 chapters participating in communities across the country.
Each year, DAR members, veterans and community members distribute wreaths on the graves of veterans across the United States.
“Wreaths Across America is more than adorning graves with wreaths,” D’Amico said. “It’s about honoring the spirit of our veterans and recognizing their legacy of courage and dedication.”
A total of 32,504 graves were honored in Washington state in 2023 as part of the remembrance program. Learn more about the DAR organization at dar.org. See updates of what Michael Trebert Chapter is doing for veterans in the community by following their Facebook page at facebook.com/MTCDAR.
