Milestone: Sequim grad McAndie gets WWU endowment, scholarship

Western Washington University student Megan Ann McAndie, daughter of John and Carolyn McAndie of Sequim, has received the $600 James and Joann Albers Scholarship Endowment and the $1,000 Alumni Association Leader Scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year.

The endowment is awarded to students majoring in physics. The academic excellence and financial need of students shall be balanced in whatever proportion is deemed appropriate.

McAndie graduated from Sequim High School in 2014. She is an undergraduate student at Western majoring in physics. Her activities include the Campus Christian Fellowship, Women in Physics and Western Night Sky Viewing. She also is a lab assistant.

In the future, McAndie hopes to educate the public about astronomy and physics.
