Damon Little, a 17-year-old Sequim High School senior, was recently named Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Sequim.
Mary Budke, Rotary’s chairperson for Student of the Month recognitions, read a letter to Little and the audience from one of his high school teachers outlining his activities, at the Rotary club’s Oct. 25 meeting.
Little, an honor roll student who teachers say is a role model to his peers, is active in student government and peer mentoring, excels in Spanish, participates in community service and is a competitive pickleball player. He is passionate about the theater and performing arts.
Little plans to go to a Washington State University upon graduation and pursue a degree in liberal arts.
The Rotary Club of Sequim names a student each month of the school year who exemplifies good citizenship, has good grades, participates in extracurriculars and contributes to the community.
Each student of the month receives a letter from the Rotary Club to use in their scholarship notebooks recognizing the student’s exemplary qualities, a Certificate of Recognition for display and a commemorative collector coin from the Rotary Club of Sequim.
