Milestone: Sequim Rotary group makes tech donation to Boys & Girls club

Port Angeles-area youths got a technology boost from their neighbors to the east.

Members of the Noon Rotary Club of Sequim announced last week the purchase and installation of 32 monitors for the all-new computer lab at the new two-story Turner Unit of the Boys & Girls Club of the Olympic Peninsula, located on Lauridsen Boulevard in Port Angeles.

In addition, each computer station will boast a large mouse pad with the Rotary club’s name and the Rotary wheel logo.

Club members got an exclusive virtual tour of the facility via Zoom to see the games room, gymnasium, upstairs teen area and the secure playground area to be completed soon.

Students will be able to use the computer lab under the guidance and with the assistance of Boys & Girls Club staff to complete homework “in a safe and socially-distanced manner.”
