Milestone: Sequim Soroptimists pick Perez, Olson for Girls of the Month honors

Soroptimist International of Sequim announced the selections of Vita Olson (March) and Kimberly Perez (April) for their Girls of the Month honors.

Olson volunteers at Dungeness River Audubon Center as student representative and camp counselor. In addition, she volunteers with her Sequim High School ASB, beach clean-ups and Breakfast with Santa.

Olson is a recipient of the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair Grand Award, and plans to major in business economics and environmental science.

Perez volunteers at the Sequim Food Bank, tutors at Helen Haller Elementary in their reading program and is president of La Cima at Sequim High.

She was selected in 2019 to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine at George Mason University and is on the school honor roll.

Perez plans to attend the University of Washington with a major in nursing.
