Soroptimist International of Sequim recently awarded their Live Your Dream Award to Kyla Heckathorn and Dolcenia Montero.

The Live Your Dream award was established in 1972 to aid a mature woman to enter or re-enter the job market, or to further her skills and training to enhance her employment status.

Each of these recipients received $2,000.

Heckathorn is a mother of two and is working to become a registered nurse. References described her as hardworking and determined to get her degree.

Montero is also a mother of two and is a student at Peninsula College working towards a degree in graphics. Her references describe Montero as having strong communication skills and has worked hard to overcome adversity.
