Milestone: Sequim students get academic honors

A number of Sequim-area students earned academic honors at colleges and universities recently:

Western Washington

Claire Henninger, a Western Washington University student athlete, earned a place on the Presidents List with a 4.0 grade-point-average for fall quarter 2019. Henninger, a redshirt sophomore, is studying kinesiology and psychology and is a goalkeeper for the Vikings women’s soccer team.

Eastern Washington

Andrea Albaugh of Sequim was recently named to the Dean’s List at Eastern Washington University following the fall 2019 quarter. An undergraduate student who earns 12 quality hours and receives a grade-point-average of 3.50 or better is placed on the Dean’s List at Eastern.

Iowa State

Iowa State University recently announced that Sequim resident Carmen Jo Wilwert was named to the fall 2019 dean’s list.

Wilwert, a senior, is studying chemical engineering.

To be included on the dean’s list, students must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5 while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours.

University of Alabama

Madison Kay Hyde of Sequim was named to The University of Alabama’s Presidents List for fall 2019.

Full-time, undergraduate students enrolled during the 2019 fall term at the school were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record/grade-point-average of 3.

Pensacola Christian College

Sequim resident Sammie Lukins was named to the fall 2019 president’s list at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida.

Students must earn a semester grade-point average of 3.90 or higher to be named to the president’s list.
