Milestone: Sequim’s Goldman finishes master’s degree studies

Nessa Goldman works, a middle school math and science teacher at Olympic Peninsula Academy, completed her master’s course of study with a master of arts degree in biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly this May.

In many of her Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) master’s courses, Goldman designed projects that supported her Master Plan — a kind of personal mission statement for what she wanted to accomplish in the program — that culminated in a final portfolio, “Enhancing Environmental Identity on the Olympic Peninsula.”

The AIP master’s degree is a web-based master’s degree offered by Miami University with experiential learning and community engagement at affiliated AIP Master Institutions in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Jacksonville, New York, San Diego, Seattle and St. Louis.
