Milestone: Skwim Toastmaster Hall receives ‘above and beyond’ award

Skwim Toastmasters member Kyle Hall was recently presented with the coveted John Villesvik Award.

The honor goes to a member of Toastmaster’s District 32 who “has gone above and beyond” serving both district members and clubs, Toastmasters representatives said in May.

District 32 covers Western Washington and all of Alaska.

The John Villesvik Award was created to honor his memory “as a man that was unfailingly positive, didn’t believe in saying n”, followed through on every endeavor saying Why not? It’ll be fun’,” Toastmasters representatives said.

“John was always there to lend a hand, whether in front of the room or behind the scenes,” Past District Director Ginny Grabowski said. “He gave of himself to help others, in all areas of his life. We miss him.”

Hall has led many trainings and workshops, here in Sequim, in Western Washington and in Alaska; the latest workshop in Sequim was “Awesome Intros.”

He is also an active community leader outside of Skwim Toastmasters, including serving as captain for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Team 16.

Skwim Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International. The club meets every Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. on Zoom. For more information about the club, visit SkwimTM.org and facebook.com/SequimToastmasters.
