Soroptimist International of Sequim announced recently the group has given their Live Your Dream Award to Alexandria Allen.

Soroptimist’s Live Your Dream Awards is a unique education grant for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. The award, soroptimists say, gives women resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

Allen is previously from the area, but now lives in Ellensburg while she attends Central Washington University.

Allen is an accomplished cello player and her dream is to become a professional symphony cellist and teach cello to students of all ages while working toward providing a strong and successful future for her two boys and herself.
