Soroptimist International of Sequim announced their choices for October and November Girls of the Month are Taylee Rome and Mattea Brilhart.
Rome, the Soroptimist club’s October’s choice, is active in softball which includes playing shortstop for nine years. She shares the love of the game through her volunteering with Little League Softball.
She is a member of varsity team and is going to take her love of baseball to Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz.. She plans on working toward a degree in kinesiology and hopes to achieve a master’s degree in exercise science. Her goal is to become a physical therapist.
Brilhart, the Soroptimists’ November’s Girl of the Month, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average and been an Honor Roll student since ninth grade.
She is a member of Interact and HOSA clubs and works at the Dungeness Valley Creamery and Johnson Creek Veterinary Services.
Brilhart knows sign language and uses her skills at Helen Haller Elementary School. She wants to pursue a career as an American Sign Language interpreter or in the medical profession.
