Milestone: Swain’s donates $2K to VHOCC

Swain’s General Store in Port Angeles recently donated $2,000 to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) to aid the organization in providing hospice and palliative care to county residents who are terminally ill, “allowing them to live as fully and comfortable as possible in their final days,” VHOCC representatives said.

VHOCC supports their families through respite care and grief and bereavement programs. The nonprofit’s clinical staff provides professional care either directly or through consultations, provides symptom and pain management, and “supports the dignity, integrity, and personal choices of the patient.”

The organization also runs a lending closet, supplying medical equipment to its patients and the community at large. It offers community education and grief and bereavement programs to anyone who has lost a loved one.
