Olympic Medical Center administrators presented director of surgical services Vickie Swanson with the Leadership Award at OMC’s November department management meeting.

Swanson, who joined Olympic Medical Center two years ago, has led many changes in the surgical services area.

“She has been described as a “boots-on-the-ground” leader who has integrated herself with the staff, and often jumps in to help in any role needed,” Chief Nursing Officer Ralph Parker said. “

Her team describes her as a champion of change and a true advocate for them.”

Parker also added that Swanson is approachable, easy to work with and very kind.

OMC Chief Executive Officer Eric Lewis noted that Swanson has done an excellent job in supporting Olympic Medical’s strategic plan, and helping surgical services get to the next level.
