Milestone: Voices for Veterans group picks board for 2020

Voices for Veterans announced in early January its elected 2020 Board of Directors: president John Braasch; vice president Dick Stumbaugh; secretary/treasurer Claudia Clark, and board members Joe Fore Jr., Pat Foster, Lorri Gilchrist,Paul Hampton, Mike McEvoy, DonaJean Sayer and Harvey White.

A nonprofit 501(c)(3) in Washington state, Voice for Veterans’ prime mission is “to assist homeless veterans, veterans in need, and their immediate family members, in part through a Stand Down on the North Olympic Peninsula.”

Monthly meetings are held at 1 p.m. to the second Thursday of each month at the Veterans Center, 216 S. Francis St., Port Angeles.

Three Stand Downs held annually: May in Forks, July in Port Townsend and October in Port Angeles. At the three 2019 Stand Down events, volunteers served 594 veterans. For more information about membership and/or donations, see www.voicesforveterans.org or email to voicesforveterans@yahoo.com.
