The sounds of Hawaii fill St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., this Tuesday for the monthly Music Live with Lunch series.

The duet Naki’i, or Mike and Erma Kuenzli, play a luau of tunes including original songs about Erma’s hometown and the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, at the church at noon, Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The couple, who play ukulele and guitar, have performed about 2,000 times since moving to Sequim in 1994, and last year they played 140 shows/events.

Since 1997, they’ve often played with their “hula family” based in Port Ludlow.

Erma was born in Nanakuli, Oahu, and was influenced by well-known hula teachers, musicians and cultural leaders. She later married Mike after meeting him while he was stationed in Oahu with the U.S. Navy.

Music Live with Lunch began more than 20 years ago by Lou and Bill Yandell at St. Luke’s as an outreach to the community. The concert runs the third Tuesday of each month though May. Shows start at noon in the sanctuary followed by a hot lunch at 12:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Advance tickets are available at the church office or at the door.
