The DEKA Trio of Kate Powers, Marlene Moore and Gary McRoberts takes St. Luke’s Episcopal Church’s Music Live with Lunch stage on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

With the concert beginning at noon, the trio also will play as a duet and soloists with Powers on violin, Moore on cello and McRoberts on piano. Some of their program includes Brahms’ “Trio in A minor, Opus 114 — Movement I and IV Allegro,” a hymn medley arranged by McRoberts, and Bach’s “Goldberg Variations No. 7 and 27.”

McRoberts, a doctor in musical arts, was a choral conductor for 40 years and said with the trio he’s been given the opportunity to, once again, use the piano for performance.

Moore, a formally trained cellist, has been the co-principal cellist of the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra for three years and the Port Angeles Symphony Chamber Orchestra for nine years. Powers said she lives, eats and breathes music. She’s also a member of the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra and is lead fiddle in The Young Fiddlers.

Founded 24 years ago, Music Live with Lunch, remains an outreach program to the community.

After 30 minutes of music, lunch is served with a vegetarian alternative available.

Individual concert and lunch tickets are $10 each and are available in advance at the church or at the event. Season tickets are still available for $70 for the season.

The church office is open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday and can be reached at 683-4862.
