Local performers unite for a special evening observing the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedies while celebrating God’s good works before and after the terrorist attacks.

Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., hosts the free music and performance “God Is Good, All the Time,” or GIGATT, from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Worship bands from Sequim Community Church and

Sequim Valley Foursquare Church play faith-based songs and Lily Carignan directs three human videos where performers combine music, dance and drama for the evening’s theme.

“(9/11) is an event where you ask someone where they were when it happened and everyone can say where they were,” Carignan said. “In the midst of that, God worked through so many people. God is still here and still works through us. Sometimes it takes a tragedy for people to realize that.

Co-organizer Robert Porazzo said the event is a praise and worship event meant to bring together local churches and the public.

Joel Rosenhaur, director of worship, music and arts at Sequim Community Church, also will speak briefly during the event, Porazzo said.
