NOLS offers Discovery Club for grades K-5

As part of its Summer Reading Program, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) invites children in grades K-5, along with their families and caregivers, to take part in Discovery Club. Designed to inspire curiosity and creativity, the free program offers hands-on experiences in art, sewing, games and science.

Programs vary by location and are offered weekly in Sequim, Port Angeles and Forks and on select dates in Clallam Bay.

Highlights include guest appearances by author-illustrator Rachel Michelle Wilson, who will read from her book “To Catch a Ghost” before leading a drawing and storytelling activity, and the science-comedy show “Gravity Catastrophe!” with Alex Zerbe.

No registration is required.

In Sequim, Discovery Club gatherings take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursdays at Olympic Peninsula Academy gym, 400 N. Second Ave. The schedule is as follows:

July 10: To Catch a Story with Rachel Michelle Wilson

July 17: Gel Printing with Kaylee Cammack (goes until noon)

July 24: Gravity Catastrophe! with Alex Zerbe

July 31: Pen and Paper Escape Room
