October’s Fourth Friday features author, musician

The Fourth Friday Readings in Sequim in October features author/poet Patrick Loafman.

Hear Loafman read from his newest novel at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Rainshadow Coffee Bar, 157 W. Cedar St., Sequim. Loafman is a wildlife biologist, author, artist and musician who lives west of Joyce on The Dandelion Farm.

He will read from his recently published novel, “Somewhere Upriver” (Event Horizon Press, 2013). His short story collection, “A Freckle Shaped Like California,” is forthcoming. He has been published in more than 20 journals and two published chapbooks.

As a bonus, Loafman will tickle the audience’s ears with music from his kora, a 21-string harp/lute. Admission is free. Readings begin at 6:30 p.m., but event organizers encourage attendees to arrive by 6 p.m. for preferred seating and to order food and/or drinks.
